Captive Aura Review

I was contacted on my Makeup Junkie FB Blog inquiring whether I would do a review of some Captive Aura mineral shadow pigments.  I was sent 6 sample baggies, each with 1/8 teaspoon of pigment and three 5 gram jars, each loaded with pigment.

Top Row:  Left to Right:  Foggy Dawn, Flowers at Dusk, Heat Lightening
Bottom Row:  Left to Right:  Desolate Eden, Flora, and Butterfly Garden

This swatch is the same colors as noted above but after using a brush to blend to see how much color sweeps away.  They did blend pretty good but Foggy Dawn blended away a bit more than the others did.

These are the full sized jars.  Left to Right:  Leviathan's Eye, Meteor Shower, and Rose Garden.  All three of these are really pretty. Rose Garden is super bright and very highly pigmented.  Meteor Shower is a very pigmented pigmented black with multicolored glitter.  Leviathan's Eye is a pretty lavender.

This last pic is post blending brush.  You can see that Leviathan's Eye blended almost entirely away as did Meteor Shower.  Rose Garden did much better with leaving color behind.  I did not blend very much to lose the color off of my arm.

Mon Ennui Look #3

After receiving my second order from Mon Ennui yesterday, I knew today's look had to be comprised of ME products.  This one did not disappoint!  It is one of my favorites for sure!!

I used:  Cupcake Addict (pink shimmer on the lid), Heartbreaker (dark eggplant purple with pink glitter in the crease), Mystique (deep purple above Heartbreaker and also brushed over top of a purple liner on the top lash line), Dream Catcher (teal green placed in the crease and also brushed over top of a purple liner on the lower lash line), Tzatziki (brow highlight), and Green Eyed Monster Nano Glitter (that sparkling green glitter in my crease)!  For cheeks, I used ME's Dollhouse blush.  Definitely a fan!

I can't wait to use these products more.  I also used Pigment Potion for Lips and mixed some Beauty From The Earth Pigment in Raspberry for the lip color.  LOVE....LOVE.....LOVE!

Mon Ennui Haul #2

Today, I received my second order from Mon Ennui and I could not be happier.  Mon Ennui is a fairly new company in the Los Angeles, CA area and I see this company going places fast!
In this order, I got several items.  I'll just go over them one at a time and post pics as I go.
Here is a photo of the whole stash!
Pigment Potion for Lips.  This is a wonderful clear gel that you apply with a brush or your fingertip to your lips.  You then can use any of your loose pigments (that are lip safe, of course) over top of that gel to crease your very own custom lip products.  I love the feel and consistency of this product.  It really makes my lips soft.  It is completely odorless and colorless.  This comes in a large 10 gram jar with a screw top lid.

I got two blushes.  Doll House and Cherry Blossom.  Doll House is a bright matte pink and Cherry Blossom is a pale pink.  Both are very pretty and I am excited to use them.  These came in large jars.  The best thing about the packaging of this blush is the size of the jar.  Each jar also comes with a sifter and there is room to swirl your brush around and tap off the extra in the lid if you wish.  This is the first mineral blush that I have found where the jar is so big for tapping your brush.  This is a very big plus for me!

Green Eyed Monster Nano Glitter!  This came in a 10 gram jar with a sifter fully loaded with glitter.  I cannot wait to try this.

I got six sample jars of pigment.  The sample jars are 5 gram jars with 1/4 teaspoon of pigment.  Very generous sized sample!  The sample jars do not come with a sifter.
Mystique which is a bright purple color and Lamer which is a bright teal color.  Both of these colors would work year round and are absolutely stunning.

Next, we have Dreamcatcher and Sweet Dream.  Dreamcatcher is a minty green and Sweet Dream is a pale blue green shimmer.  When you look at the jars of pigment the colors look pretty similar but not when swatched.  You can see the difference in the swatches.

Finally, we have Heartbreaker and Cupcake Addict.  Cupcake Addict is a gorgeous pale pink shimmer.  It goes on like velvet frost!  Heartbreaker is a dark purple/eggplant sort of shade with gorgeous pink glitter/reflects in it.  It changes in intensity and shifts a bit when applied wet too.

This last swatch here is Heartbreaker wet.  It is so pretty!

***One word of warning with the sifters ... the are known to come loose so please be very careful.  Do not use the jars like a "salt shaker" as you can lose pigment.  This is due to the jars being filled so full - I consider this a happy side effect that I am willing to work with ... I just know I have to watch out for the sifters coming loose!  You don't want to lose any of these babies!!***

The last item I ordered was Mystery Spy Pack #1.  I cannot comment on this one as us spies have been sworn to secrecy until all spies have received their packages.  Once all spy packages have been received, we will discuss them and blog about them.  I cannot wait to share with everyone what I got in mine!!

Beauty From The Earth - Eye Shadow Haul!

Last week, I got some great shadows and I have finished the photos and YouTube videos for this haul. Blush Haul Video! Shadow Haul Video!

This is what I got:  Winter Rose and Paris shadows.  Paris was Color of The Week last week and is a wonderful glittery pink shade of awesome!  Winter Rose is a shimmery peach sort of shade.  Very pretty and will be used a lot.

I also got 3 collections.  BFTE is now packaging the collections a bit differently and they are so stinkin' cute!  Check this out!

First Up:  Bring On The Berries.

Next is Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.  That pink color on top was not included in this collection.  I just put that in this photo to show you all the new lids that BFTE has come out with.  They are heat stamped with their logo on top of each lid.  How cool is that huh?!

Finally, is Hard Rock.

All three of these collections are awesome and will be used a lot!  This last photo is the entire haul - all shadows and blushes that I received last week.

Beauty From The Earth - Blush Haul!

I got some samples of some new blushes coming out in the next couple of weeks along with some full sized jars of some blushes that will not be going to the new Website when it launches.  You can ignore the "B" on the bottom of the jar.  I placed those there so I would remember that they were all blushes (large order).

Left to Right:  Tipsy (bright rosy pink), Future Ex-Wife (pale lilac), Sleepy Hollow (pale lilac but just a tad darker than Future Ex-Wife), Kitten (peachy pink shimmer - definitely a favorite), and Old Flame (matte brownish red).
These are the discontinued blushes.  Some really pretty shades here ... I expected Moroccan to be much darker but it is one of my favorites.  I had planned to use it as a bronzer but will be able to use it as a blush as it is not anywhere near as dark as I thought it was going to be.  YAY!

Somehow I missed getting Adobe in this first swatch photo ... but it is in the next one.
Left To Right:  Sunset (Matte reddish brown - I have been using this as a bronzer and I LOVE it!),Winter Mauve (Shimmery peach), Buff Apricot (peachy pink), Neutral Pink (pale pink - very light and perfect for very fair skin tones), and Moroccan

All of the Blushes - Left to Right:  Tipsy, Future Ex-Wife, Sleepy Hollow, Kitten, Old Flame, Adobe, Sunset, Winter Mauve, Buff Apricot, Neutral Pink, Moroccan.

Mon Ennui Look #2

So I recently found a new Indie makeup on Facebook called Mon Ennui.  I think this line is going to be HUGE!!   I highly recommend this line of product and I am extremely happy with what I have received so far.  I have placed my second order today!

For this look, I used:
UDPP in Sin
Lid:  Mr. X-Treme wet with a small amount dry patted over top
Crease:  Butcher
Highlight:  Tzatziki
Cheeks:  Fairytale
Lips:  Clear gloss with Fairytale patted over top

I love this look.  I love that Fairytale can be used as a shadow, blush, and lip product.  It is such a pretty pale pink shade with a bit of shimmer to it.
